Welcome to James Pitt-Payne's Midi Website
Greetings Music Lovers everywhere, It's been a while since you saw my photo here on the homepage, but thanks to the hard work of the Webmaster (Ben), my handsome face is here for all to see once more.
If you wish to get the best out of my Midi songs I personally use Vanbasco for the PC which I highly recommend! If you are using an Apple Mac computer to play my midi files, you might like to try Qmidi which can be downloaded from here Anyway, enjoy the site. On these pages are some 12,000 music files of varying quality. My favourites are Victor Herbert, Reginald de Koven, Noel Coward, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, and dear Ivor Novello, of course, but there are many more.
Avail yourself of the search engine box on the left if you like: Type 'ragtime' and you may get 15 but type 'rag' and you'll get over 100 pieces. Surnames of composers work best. And just typing in a year, say 1908, will reveal every song of that vintage that I have in the database.
Whilst music was the original aim of this site, I quickly found that my penchant for all things amusing could be satisfied here. This is a good place for after dinner speakers to 'surf' and those with a medical turn of mind will not be disappointed. James Pitt-Payne. |
